As you've probably gathered I like drinking real-ale, I'm practicing at not being an anorak, but I'll let you be the judge of whether or not I'm succeeding. Blinded By The Light
Puberty is never easy. But a great comfort to me as a lad was the Freemans catalogue.
The women's underwear section proved a section of great interest. So it was something of surprise and amusement when I stumbled across this blog, very much by accident.
Sadly this work of eccentricity appears to have ground to a halt.
I guess the authors voice has just broken.

Can't Stand Me
"Musician Pete Doherty has told a newspaper he will stay away from drugs after leaving prison on Tuesday on bail for robbery and blackmail charges." According to this BBC story.
I bloody hope so !
I'm not really interested in his personal life. I just wish he'd get his act together so he can continue to make bloody good music.

National Pubs Week will take place between the 19th and 26th February and has been designed to encourage more people to visit the pub at a quiet time of the year for the pub industry.
National Pubs Week was originally launched in February 2003 by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) to encourage people to visit pubs more regularly after research had shown that 20 pubs were closing every month. Thousands of pubs came on board in the first two year's of the campaign, and over 10,000 pubs have signed up to National Pubs Week 2005, organising events and displaying promotional material in pubs across Britain. Due to this success, CAMRA have now made National Pubs Week a calendar event.
Tony Jerome, CAMRA's Press and Marketing Manager said, "The National Pubs Week campaign celebrates its third year in February 2005 and participating pubs are promising to be more active that ever before! The end of February is a quiet time for the pub industry, following a busy Christmas period, and National Pubs Week gives pubs a real springboard to organise and market themselves to compete against other leisure facilities such as restaurants, wine bars and coffee houses."

True Blue With Speech Impediment
Anyone that enjoys killing is sick.
I hate dogs with a passion.
I would give up being a vegetarian to help eat up the dog population of this country, but I would not delight in their destruction.
I suspect there would be a public outcry if poodles, terriers, lurchers, mongrels et al were ritually sacrificed on the streets of this country.
And guess who would be the most vociferous in their condemnation ?
Why, the Law & Order brigade of course - the great inbred/regional-accentless/hang-them-flog-them-brigade/tortologically-neo-fascist-tories.
The same ilk that has today broken the law in pursuit of a barbaric and senseless pastime.
If the Countryside Alliance cared about the country, they would be promoting rural regeneration, and not it's death and decay. They don't give a toss about the countryside. They just want to preserve rich land owner's lifestyles, so that they can continue to exploit, and deny rights to all.
Where's the campaigning against factory farming, chemical spraying, GM crops, expensive housing etc. ?
I was born and bred in a rural area, and the only people that support fox-hunting are those with plums in their gobs !
They are the reincarnation of those that didn't want slavery or child labour abolished.
Preventing stake-makers being made redundant would have been no excuse for retaining the practice of burning witches.
I hope the law deals harshly with those criminals that break the fox hunting law.

Silver Jubilee
I carry a lot of guilt around with me. Not sure why, it's just something I do quite well, that's all.
I've done it from an early age, so I'm well practised at it.
Thankfully some guilt has been lifted from me. I recently saw two boys that I was at school with. It is the first time I had seen them for about thirty odd years !
At school they were ridiculed. And while I was never an instigator of the afor mentioned ridiculing, at times I played my part.
So it was nice to see them, and to see that each in their own ways they appeared to have made successes of their lives.
I've lived in or around the same town all my life, although up until opening the shop I'd not worked in here for 15 years.
I would go into town at weekends and hardly ever see anyone I knew, but being static with the world coming to and passing your door it is surprising what and who you see.
