That Was The Year That Was
Whew !
What a year 2004 was - A bit of a year of extremes. Lots of lows and lots of highs.
I'm not normally one to dwell too much on the previous year, or to make resolutions for the coming one.
But seeing as my blog has been out of action since the end of October I just thought I'd update matters.
Actually there's not too much to update. Life has been pretty much work, eat and sleep (with not enough of the latter !).
Lots of emotion; The Lady lost an Uncle, her father had a minor heart attack and has been in hospital a couple of times, the Lady and
her mother (make a sign of the crucifix at this point) both picked up an up-chucking/shitting bug from the hospital whilst visiting, my son finally passed his
driving test.
The shop has been going tremendously well. I think we just have to accept that we don't have a life in December. We were so glad when we shut the shop on Christmas eve.
We celebrated with a bottle of champagne !
Business has even been good between Christmas and New Year. We are now expecting a couple of lean months.
Just hope I can now keep blogging regularly. I will try. I promise.
Best wishes to all for 2005.

Mystery Solved
Kilamangiro by Babyshambles. It's a song I've heard on 6 Music a few times and thought this is good.
It sounded like the erstwhile singer of the Libertines, and sure enough it is true, Pete Doherty is
the singer with the band. Just hope he lives long enough to make an album.
Fantastic !

Cocktail
Today was a very poor day in the shop. Not unexpected I might add. Just after Christmas and a very cold day.
The walk home was cold with a bitter biting wind.
We felt so cold when we arrived home that we decided that what we needed was some soup to start off our evening meal.
A few minutes later we both sat down to a steaming bowl containing tomato soup, a measure of vodka and a dash of vegetarian Worcester sauce.
Low and behold, what we instantly name a Bloody Hot !
Tasted bloody good as well.

A Good Beer Blog
For those of you that haven't come across this site, pay it a visit.
It has a wealth of info and comments on beers from around the world.
Alan (the blog-master) kindly published a bit about our shop recently.
I particularly enjoy the quote under the sites logo:
"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." -- Benjamin Franklin
I don't know why, I thought it was Dr Samuel Johnson that said that - I don't know why I think that. I suspect I'm wrong.
It seems that once you reach a certain age your memories get jumbled around in your head and then come out in any old fashion !
Woe is me !
Anyway I digress, give this blog a visit.

Justice ?
So the spawn of the devil gets away with a bribe fine. Surely he deserves to rot
in a South African gaol for a good few years ?

Little Bit Of Politics, Little Bit Of Politics
I received a "Quality of Life Questionnaire" today in the post from my MP (I never bloody well voted for him !)
Emblazoned on the front of the envelope was www.tellDavidRuffley.com. My initial thought was shouldn't it say www.tellDavidRuffleytofuckoff.com ?
The morons good burghers of Bury St Edmunds always, always elect a tory. So, of course, I've never elected an MP, given that I'd rather die than vote for those evil selfish bastards.
My only hope is that he'll defect to the Labour Party and for a brief period I'd have a Labour MP.
I think I might write and suggest it to him. He's probably got a lot in common with 'new' Labour !
I may feel betrayed by Labour, but I know my quality of life would be shed-loads worse under dracula's mob.

I Laughed 'til I Shat !
Well not quite.
I've long held the view, that both comedy and music, are so much better produced this side of the Atlantic.
But occasionally those former colonial upstarts come up with something really good. One of those was The 3rd Rock From The Sun.
Me and the Lady have been enjoying the re-runs on ITV 2. They are still funny. It's also re-assuring that there are plenty of people like Harry in this world.
Don't tell the Lady, but it's also good to see and lust over Jane Curtin on TV again.

Lemon Curry ?
Well not quite.
This morning I had toast for breakfast.
Stop yawning.
Yesterday we took delivery of two sample jars of marmalade with real ale.
So toast and real ale marmalade for breakfast then. It was very yummy.
I was a bit sceptical I must admit, but it really does work.
So in about three or four weeks time we'll be selling beer2go branded real ale marmalade.
We already sell a brand of real ale chutney, which is very tasty. We're also having this re-branded with our own logo.
Added to these will be an Irish Stout Fruit Cake.
I love my job !

Swiss Tony
Would you buy a used car from this lot ? :
We are looking for business partners in
Australia and UNITED KINGDOM.
We are in the partnership with such payment
like (PayPal systems, WebMoney,
E-gold, Evocash etc.).
We're a Swiss company. We're looking for people who will help us to establish
a new distribution network in AU and UK to sell micro devices.
We need
agents to receive payment for our products (wire transfers)
and to send the
money to us. This way we will save money because of the tax decreasing. Tax
for international money transfer made by entity (company) in Switzerland is 25%.
There is no sense for us to work this way, but tax for international money
transfer made by a private individual is 6% - That's why we need You!
As soon as you
receive the money from us
(usually it's up to 5000$ per
transaction.), you will leave for your self 6-8% from the each amount of money
you will receive. The rest of the money you send to us using Western
Union. Usually, we're making 7-10 transactions per month.
Everything is
absolutely legal, that's why You have to fill a contract!
Details You can view HERE or just copy and past in
Your browser this link: http://www.labian.org
Feel free to contact
our stuffmanager (Anny Rames) :
Contact e-mails: jobau@labian.org - for
Australian partners. jobuk@labian.org
- for UK partners.
Me thinks this bunch of spamming shysters might have friends in Nigeria !
But hey !
This could be my big chance to make my fortune. I bet there are free lunches on offer as well.
Not sure why the UK warrants all CAPITALS and those poor Australians only get the one at the begining.
And I can't be arsed to copy & past (or even copy & present/copy & future), or contact their Stuff Manager.
Managing of the stuff, I'd quite like to, I am thinking.

If you like my blog, please link me from your website or blog (if you have one). Or just tell your friends, if you have any. Thanks.
